In this program, you will learn how to predict and judge tidal current strength, cross a moving tidal stream and efficiently, and use tidal currents to your advantage. Our instructors will show you how to surf on standing waves, deal with following seas, and cross eddy lines. They will also show you how to smile and wave at the cameras, because you will be so cool at the end of this class! This course is for the experienced paddler looking to play safely in tidal currents and rips up to 4 knots.
Prerequisites
Kayak 101: Strokes and Rescues, Kayak 103: Ocean motion and Movement or equivalent experience.
Includes
Students are permitted to bring their own
gear. Equipment must be equivalent to gear provided, appropriate for
class, in good working order and approved by instructor. Please call

**BRINGING YOUR OWN KAYAK? Kayaks 12ft or larger with flotation in
front and rear are acceptable (i.e. sealed bulkheads in front and
rear). No sit on top kayaks or recreational kayaks smaller than 12ft
please.
Does Not Include
Students will be expected to arrive dressed
appropriately for the weather. Pack a lunch and snacks for the day.
Water bottles should be filled before arrival.
